The Jags brought the power as they rode 6 RBIs off 3 homeruns to beat Raymore-Peculiar 8-0 at South Monday.
The Jags got on the board in the first with a bunt single by Regi Hecker, who went 3-for-4 with 2 stolen bases. McKenna Lester would draw a full count and hit the first homer in of the night for the Jags to take a 2-0 lead.
Addie Lightner would get South going again in the same inning with a single. Bailey Brumley would follow with her own single to set the table for a Lauren Good sacrifice fly to score Lightner. Brumley would then score on a Lauren Rogers single.
In the second inning, with 2 outs, Lester worked her second full count and would launch her second homer in of the day over the right center field fence for South to go up 5-0.
The final scoring inning of the night for the Jags was the fourth when Kyndall Bennaka would single, Lester would walk, and Lightner would notch South’s third homer of the evening with a 3 run homer in of her own, just inside the left field foul pole.
Hecker would lead the Jags with 3 hits, while Lester and Lightner both contributed two hits and 3 RBI apiece. Brumley would also add 2 singles.
Lightner also held down the Panther lineup in the circle for a complete game shutout that saw her surrender only 4 hits and strike out 9.
South returns to action tomorrow traveling to Lee’s Summit North to round out their regular season schedule.
