Game Recap

It was a disappointing loss for the Jaguars who fresh off a big win at Blue Springs couldn’t gain any momentum or consistency against a Lee’s Summit team that was focused in and playing well. A win would have solidified at least a share of the conference title. Now the Jaguars will have to wait until next week and will need to win their last two matches in order to guarantee at least a share of the title. South finishes the regular season with matches at home vs. Belton (10.5), @ Ray-Pec (10.10) and at home vs. Park Hill (10.12).

Meet Recap

I thought we had a really nice meet especially against the level of competition we faced tonight. Both Lee’s Summit North and Kearney are incredible good teams that should both challenge for a team state title this year. This weekend is our big meet in COMO at the Mizzou Aquatic Center where some of the fastest swimmers and best divers in the Midwest will give us a preview of the state meet a few weeks from now.

Game Recap

Despite out-hitting West 9-7, the Jags left 4 runners in scoring position and came up short, losing 5-3 on Monday night to end the regular season 19-9, and 6-6 in conference.
Easton Seib kept the Titan hitters off balance recording 3 strike outs, while leaving 11 West runners stranded. Seib surrendered 4 earned runs.
The Jag offense jumped out to an early lead on a two-out Kailee Odegard double followed by a Haley Woolf single to go up 1-0 after the first inning.
That one run would hold up until the 4th when West would get on the board with their own two-out single. West would go on to score one in the 5th and 2 in the sixth, which is when the Jags allowed an unearned run to score after a fielding error.
Down 4-1 in the 6th, South would start the inning with a single by Aubrie Munoz followed by a walk by Odegard. Woolf would single to load the bases, and Munoz swiped home on a Titan passed ball. Addie Lightner would come through with her RBI of the game with a single. But South would come up short and leave runners stranded at second and third to end the inning. The Jags would try to start a two-out rally in the 7th with a double by Munoz, but would be unable to get any runs.
The Jags travel to Columbia Rock Bridge on Thursday to take on the winner of Grain Valley and Rock Bridge in the second round of district play.
