Meet Recap

Once again our conference proves to be arguable the fastest and deepest in the state.
That being said I think we competed unbelievably well. All of our relays swam fastest times of the year and we were over 95% best times in the individual swims as well.
Adam Ryan (50 and 100 free) and Aaron Wedel (500 free) both achieved automatic state qualifying times for the first time ever.
Chase Graham (200 and 500 free), Alex Burt (diving), and Micah Currie (diving) all achieved All-Conference honors.
Alex Burt also was dominating once again on Thursday by being the only non Lee’s Summit North athlete to be a conference champion. In doing so he not only broke our school record, but also the conference record in the process.

Game Recap

South Volleyball ends it’s season with a 24-9 record after falling to Jefferson City 1-2 in a tightly contested match. Leading 23-20 in the 3rd set the Jays from Jefferson City scored five straight points to defeat BSS and take home the district title.

“All season we worked on being able to make adjustments and try to finish a close match. It’s just a shame that it had to end this way, we felt we were prepared to handle that situation but it just wasn’t meant to be. The girls work so hard all season, tonight is a disappointment. We just couldn’t close the match. Jeff City played us well, they served us off the court in set one, we made adjustments with what rotation we started in to set up some different match-ups for our hitters and our serve receive really picked things up. In the end, Jeff City started to really attack us from their right side and we couldn’t get the stops we needed. We had a few breakdowns as well in our side-out-offense but give credit to Jeff City and their front line, as they made some great blocking plays at the end of the third set. It was a good season, tough loss but a good season.”
